Errors in file :
ORA-15554: cannot start workload replay client because the  database server is not in PREPARE mode

I found an article which stated that I needed to run the  procedure DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY.START_REPLAY so I ran it and got the same

error:
SQL> BEGIN
2           DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY.START_REPLAY ();
3         END;
4         /
BEGIN
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-20223: Database not in PREPARE for REPLAY mode. Issue  PREPARE_REPLAY()
before START_REPLAY().
ORA-06512: at “SYS.DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY”, line  2953
ORA-06512: at line 2
The solution

The problem was that I needed to run in the DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY.PREPARE_REPLAY procedure FIRST. For example:

BEGIN

DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY.PREPARE_REPLAY (
synchronization           =>  ‘SCN’,
connect_time_scale        =>  100,
think_time_scale          =>  100,
think_time_auto_correct   =>  TRUE,
scale_up_multiplier       => 1,
capture_sts               => TRUE,
sts_cap_interval          =>  1800);
END;
/

Wait for the replay to start (09:47:06)

Now this is complete I can start the replay from within the  DB by using this command:

BEGIN
DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY.START_REPLAY ();
END;
/

You may need to enable the Real Application Testing (RAT) option  first, or enable Real Application Testing (RAT) within the DB.
